The Town of Plainfield is situated in the scenic Berkshire foothills
where Hampshire County merges into neighboring Franklin and
Berkshire Counties.
The peaks of West Mountain are the highest elevation in the
county and are set in the shadow of Mount Greylock to the West. The
golden warmth of spring and early summer melt the winter snows from
the rolling meadows and hillsides that brush the landscape and feed
Plainfield's many water ways. These clear cold waters serve as the
headwaters of the Westfield and Deerfield Rivers which serve to
nourish the lands around them. Leading one to the other this cycle
of rebirth is followed by the golden harvest of autumn and the fiery
hues that light the hillsides.
It is perhaps the beauty
of this land from which the people of Plainfield draw their
inspiration and bring to you now, for the first time, a slice of
home. Their home.
